How to respond

6.1 This consultation paper is available from the Scottish Executive by e-mailing waste.team@scotland.gov.uk , you can also send e-mail responses to this address.

6.2 Please send comments either by E-mail as explained in the previous paragraph, or to the address below, by Monday 10 January 2000. In your response, please explain who you are and, where relevant, who you represent, and give your name and address.

6.3 The Scottish Executive may wish to publish responses to this consultation paper in due course or to deposit them in its library. Confidential responses will, never the less, be included in any statistical summary of numbers of comments received or views expressed.

Next steps after consultation

6.5 This paper is the first stage in the development of a statutory instrument to reduce the landfill of biodegradable municipal waste. As explained earlier, such an instrument is needed to implement the EC Landfill Directive.
