Explanatory Notes

Article 1 Citation and commencement

This states the name by which the Designation Order shall be known and indicates the date on which the provisions of the Order shall come into force.

Article 2 Interpretation

This defines certain terms used in the Designation Order. The "Establishment Date" is the date on which the National Park Authority is in place, and takes on a very limited range of functions in order to allow it to prepare for the Park becoming fully operational. The "Operational Date" is the date on which the Park Authority assumes responsibility for the full range of functions in relation to the National Park.

Article 3 Designation of National Park

This specifies the area to be designated as a National Park by making reference to the area delineated in black on the deposited map.
