EU legislation requires that vaccination may only be undertaken within a bluetongue Protection Zone. In order to facilitate this, the Declaratory Order creates a BTV8 Protection Zone to allow for BTV8 Vaccination within Scotland. This also allows for the movement of bluetongue suseptible animals crossing between similar ( BTV8) zones and into or out of free areas if accompanied by a licence. Further information on the movement of bluetongue susceptible animals can be found in the Movements section of this website.
The following Declarations are made under The Bluetongue (Scotland) Order 2008 (as amended).
