Good air links support Scotland's economy, including the tourism industry.
The Government aims to encourage the development of direct routes to Scotland to foster inward investment, business, and inbound tourism traffic, and to ensure it can host more major international events and conferences.
The safety and regulation of aviation is a reserved matter. However. the Scottish Government engages with the UK Government, the European Commission and other stakeholders on the implementation and development of policies that have implications for air transport in Scotland.
