Consultation
The main consultation network for the Scottish Government statistics group is the ScotStat network. The network aims to provide a mechanism for engaging in discussion and debate, priority setting and planning with the full range of users and providers of Scottish Executive statistics. In the topic area of School Education, this process of consultation is progressed through the Steering Group on Data Exchange in Education and Children's Services (DEECS)
You may also wish to note that the Scottish Government is represented on the Education and Training National Statistics Theme group which addresses issues at a UK level.
You are also invited to register on the ScotStat user register. The ScotStat register allows users and providers of Scottish Statistics to record their interest in specific topics. The register will then be used to target those interested in a particular statistical area.
Planning
Openness about planning and prioritising is a key requirement of National Statistics and of our commitment to users and providers. The provisional plan for 2007/08 - which covers School Education, Children and Young People, HMIE and SWIA - is available for comment.
The Scottish Government is happy to receive comments on the plan throughout the year. Comments will be taken forward as part of the consideration of the final plan and the 2008/09 workplan. If you wish to comment on please contact:
