Summary court cases dealt with within 26 weeks

The percentage of summary court cases disposed of in 26 weeks remained broadly the same between 2005-06 and 2006-07 at 65%, but has increased to 67% in 2007-08.

The Scottish Government has established a National Indicator to achieve a three percentage point increase in the percentage of criminal cases disposed of within 26 weeks by 2011.

Note: Covers Sheriff Summary and District / JP court cases. The time points are defined as the earliest caution and charge date for any accused in the case to the latest verdict date for any accused in the case.
