Statistics Reform - Improving Statistical Services in Scotland - Consultation

Scotland

The consultation paper "Improving Statistical Services in Scotland" was published on 11 December 2006. The consultation was in two parts, the first part requesting views on the way proposed for the UK Statistics and Registration Service Bill in Scotland and the second part for opinions on the other measures to improve the statistics service in Scotland:

16 organisations and individuals responded to the consultation, which closed on 5 March 2007. The public responses can be found at:

Consultation on Pre-release Access to Statistics (Scotland) Order 2008

The draft Pre-release Access to Statistics (Scotland) Order 2008 was published on 19 June 2008 - comments on the draft Order were invited up until 1 August 2008. This was shorter than the standard 3 months consultation time period as the Scottish Government had already consulted on pre-release via the "Improving Statistical Services in Scotland" consultation paper above. This consultation was a final chance for users to express their views on the draft Order specifically. The consultation was targeted at those registered on ScotStat, the network for users and providers of Scottish Official Statistics.
