Question and Answer Evenings
Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment Richard Lochhead and the Minister for Environment Michael Russell undertook a series of events over the summer to answer questions and hear views on issues within their portfolio from people in rural Scotland.
The Ministers headed panels which included senior officials from the government, and from the Non-Departmental Public Bodies and Agencies within their responsibilities.
The Rural Affairs and Environment portfolio includes agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, rural development, forestry, environment, natural heritage, land reform, water quality and sustainable development.
The Ministers explained how the portfolio relates to the government's five strategic objectives: to make Scotland a greener, safer and stronger, wealthier and fairer, healthier and smarter place.
