Remit
Aims and Objectives:
- To bring together key parties to assist the Scottish Executive in the preparation of instructions in respect of Acts of Adjournal required to amend the Rules of Court with the purpose of ensuring adequate procedures are in place to enable the operation of the Vulnerable Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2004 in so far as its provisions relate to child witnesses in the High Court and Sheriff Court Solemn cases and Children's Hearing referrals to the Sheriff Court with effect from 1 April 2005.
- To assist the Scottish Executive in the preparation of instructions for a Commencement Order to enable the Vulnerable Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2004 to come into operation on 1 April 2005 in so far as its provisions relate to child witnesses in High Court and Sheriff Court Solemn cases and Children's Hearings referrals to the Sheriff Court.
