Scottish Strategy for Victims

The Executive is committed to a criminal justice system that fully supports victims and witnesses. A Scottish Strategy for Victims was published in January 2001. This set out three key objectives:

  • Better access to information
  • Increased support
  • Greater participation in the criminal justice system

A report on the Scottish perspective on the EU Framework decision on the standing of victims in Criminal Procedure was published in November 2002.

Two reports on progress in implementing the strategy have also been published.
