The Scottish Government

The Victims of Crime Branch is part of the Scottish Executive Justice Department's Victims and Witnesses Unit. It has responsibility for the following issues:

• Strategic development of policies and services for victims of crime, including overseeing progress on, and review of the Scottish Strategy for Victims
• Support for victims, including providing funding for Victim Support Scotland's HQ, victim support services and the Witness Service
• Information for victims, including the Scottish Victims of Crime Website and the production of information leaflets for victims of crime
• Implementation of the victims provisions in the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003, including establishing the victim statements pilot and providing guidance on the Victim Notification Scheme
