The Ministerial Adisory Group (MAG) is chaired by the Deputy Minister for Justice and provides direct advice to Scottish Ministers on genuinely strategic Scottish Fire & Rescue Service Issues.
Membership of the group includes:
- Chair of the Service Delivery Advisory Forum
- Chair of the Strategic Advisory Forum
- HM Chief Inspector of Fire Services
- A representative from a SFRS trade union
- Head of Police and Community Saftety Group (Scottish Executive)
- Independent Member
- Chief Fire Officer's Association
Issues that have been considered include the Fire Service Modernisation Programme, Spending Review, the review of emergency preparedness and attacks on firefighters.
