The Scottish Orthotic Services Review was commissioned by the Rehabilitation Technology Services Advisory Group (ReTSAG) and was published in May 2005. It made 14 recommendations for improvements to service delivery.
Recommendation 11 stated that the Scottish Executive Health Department should facilitate information sharing between NHS Board areas and development of best practice to drive the implementation of recommendations, and to provide a national overview. In response to this we have now established the Scottish Orthotic Review Recommendations Implementation Group (SORRIG) and have appointed a Project Manager to drive forward and support the modernisation of orthotic services.
