Notes: In preparation for the tendering exercise for the Clyde and Hebridean Ferry Services (CHFS), Caledonian MacBrayne was restructured on 1-10-06. The ownership of the vessels and harbours remained with Caledonian MacBrayne which was renamed Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) and owned by the Scottish Ministers. From 1-10-06, the Company commenced leasing the vessels to the operator of the Clyde & Hebrides Ferry services (currently CalMac Ferries Ltd.). They also lease vessels for the Gourock - Dunoon and Rathlin – Ballycastle services. A new company, CalMac Ferries Ltd was set up. From 1-10-06 the business of running CHFS was transferred to CalMac Ferries Ltd - owned by Scottish Ministers, as was its predecessor Caledonian MacBrayne. CalMac Ferries Ltd is a subsidiary company of David MacBrayne Ltd, registered in the UK, and based at Gourock. |
