Quality of Life Fund

Policeman and two childrenQuality of Life provided funding direct to local authorities allowing councils to prioritise expenditure on projects which addressed local concerns on the environment and community well-being. The fund was allocated £280m over the five years 2003-2008.

The last 2-year allocation (2006-08) was for projects falling under 2 themes - improving the local environment and improving community well-being.

A wide range of projects were supported ranging from skateboard parks in Fife to youth projects in Angus; anti-graffiti and vandalism measures in Dundee to neighbourhood safety in North Lanarkshire.
