NHS National Procurement

NHS National Procurement is a division of NHS National Services Scotland. As NHS Scotland's Centre of Procurement Expertise, it provides goods, services and procurement advice and expertise to all the NHS Boards.

Together with colleagues across the health service, National Procurement strive towards procurement best practice and delivery of innovative ways of working that ensure significant financial and service efficiencies. They play a crucial role in the delivery of procurement reform across the public sector in Scotland.

Using NHS Scotland's combined buying power, National Procurement help people in health boards to get the best value from their purchases. In 2008-09, £640 million was spent through national contracts. By buying through these contracts, the health boards saved NHS Scotland £24 million.
