As well as being vital to Scotland's economy, food impacts on many other aspects of Scottish life - health, education and the environment.
A National Discussion was held in early 2008, inviting people to help shape Scotland's first national food policy.
All responses have been independently analysed, and a statement on key findings and the way forward was made by the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment on June 19, 2008.
