The Scottish Planning Policy (SPP) and National Planning Policy Guidance (NPPG) series' are being streamlined into one document. The thematic policies below will remain in force until revised in 2009.
The new SPP is split into three sections:
- Part One The Scottish Government's view of the purpose of planning and the core principles for the system's operation.
- Part Two The objectives for key parts of the system (development planning, development management and enforcement).
- Part Three Thematic policies. To be published during 2009.
Parts One and Two are published as Scottish Planning Policy (SPP) and supercede SPP1: The Planning System (2002). Further details are available from the Scottish Planning Policy home page.
