National Planning Framework: The first National Planning Framework (NPF) was published April 2004 and now work is underway on the preparation of the second NPF. <<more here>>

Planning News

  • Delivering Planning Reform was announced at the recent Planning Summit and is a joint statement of common objectives and actions to help deliver a reformed planning system. The document sets out an action programme for Scottish Government, local and national park authorities, agencies and the private sector. <more here>

  • The Scottish Planning Policy (SPP) series is to be streamlined into one policy document comprising three parts. The first two parts were published on October 28 and supercede SPP1 The Planning System (2002). The third part, which will contain streamlined policy messaged on planning topics, will be published in 2009. <more here>
