Support Schemes
There are a variety of support schemes available to Scottish farmers. Further information can be found by following the links.
- Cross Compliance - Details of the statutory management requirements necessary to receive the Single Farm Payment, including the obligation to keep land in Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GAEC).
- Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) - This governs all applications to the SFPS and Cross-Compliance regulations. You must comply with its rules to receive payments
- Land Management Contracts - New for 2005, the LMCMS offers a range of management options from which farmers and crofters can choose those that best meet their individual requirements. This scheme marks a new approach to land management in Scotland.
- Less Favoured Areas Support Scheme (LFASS) - This is a per-hectare payment designed to contribute to the maintenance of a viable rural community by providing support for continued agricultural activity and sustainable farming systems.
- Scottish Beef Calf Scheme - As part of the Single Farm Payment, the Scottish Ministers have implemented a beef national envelope. This will support the supply of quality Scotch beef and protect the environment.
- Single Farm Payment Scheme - This was introduced in 2005 as part of the CAP Reform agreement, and replaces the old production-based support schemes.
