PURPOSE OF CONSULTATION

This consultation paper seeks your views on the Scottish Soil Framework, developed by Scottish Government based on the advice from a wide range of stakeholders. The Framework is aimed at relevant policy leads within Scottish Government, its delivery partners, environmental and business NGOs, research organisations and other key stakeholders with a key interest in soils. It aims to bring together those involved in soil protection to ensure that Scottish Government and agencies work in a coordinated way. The Framework sets out key pressures on soils, especially from climate change, and the policies in place to combat those threats. It also sets out the future focus for soil protection and highlights a number of activities which will contribute to specific soil protection outcomes.

We welcome your views and responses to the specific questions outlined in the document on the scope of the Framework and its approach.
