ANNEX D

PROPOSED TYPES OF MEASURES FOR LAND MANAGEMENT CONTRACTS

Background

Individual measures under each Axis of the RDR and theme of the SRDP Strategic Plan have been developed by technical working groups on:

  • Natural Resources;
  • Countryside Issues; and,
  • Business Development.

In the following table, these individual measures have been grouped together as similar types of measures. The table is presented as follows.

  • The priorities from the SRDP Strategic Plan are listed.
  • Under each priority are listed the types of measures that will help deliver this priority (there is necessarily some repetition as many types of measures will contribute to more than one priority).
  • Against each type of measure there is an indication of which aspects of the Rural Development Regulation it will deliver - which of the RDR axes and RDR measures it will contribute to (necessarily each group of measures will deliver across more than one RDR axis and RDR measure).

It is intended that this approach shows how the types of measure being proposed fit within the strategic policy context provided by the three Axes of the RDR and by the themes and priorities that we proposed in the earlier consultation on the Stategic Plan in Scotland.

The table should also be compared with that in Annex F in order to see how specific measures fit within the broader, strategic context.
